As you probably already know, major renovations are underway in the sanctuary. I want to share a few pictures with you to give you an idea where we are in the progress. First, I’m so thankful to Andy and Derek for moving all the pews from the sanctuary into the Lobby. The weight of these benches is hundreds of pounds and they moved them easily (from my prospective). Clem, Michael, and Curtis were loosening the pews from the floor, removing curtains, disassembling the sound and video system, along with other odds and ends. All this work reminds me of the time in Judah’s history when at age seven, Joash was named king by the priest Jehoiada. Under Jehoiada’s mentoring, God moves Joash to repair the temple of God. I love how the Chronicler (possibly Ezra) described the work and workers in 2 Chronicles 24:13, “The men in charge of the renovation worked hard and made steady progress. They restored the Temple of God according to its original design and strengthened it.”
I saw a lot of hard work put forth by very capable people from our congregation so far. I also know that there is so much more work ahead. Don’t hesitate to talk to Stan if you would like to help out—there is probably a job that can fit your schedule and skills.
