Hello Reign Forest Friends!
On Sunday in RF, we finished out the month of June in Acts 10 with the story of Peter and Cornelius. At first, Peter did not fully understand the visions that God sent him of "unclean" animals, but God was showing Peter that because of Jesus, there was no longer a separation between Jewish and non-Jewish people. Anyone can follow Jesus, no matter their background. Peter shared the good news about Jesus with Cornelius, a Roman commander, and his household. They put their faith in Jesus and were baptized! Peter realized that God does not show favoritism and accepts people from all nations who fear Him and do what is right. The Gospel message is for everyone! As we follow Jesus, we learn how to live and love like Jesus. Over and over, we see how Jesus spent time with everyone - from wealthy leaders to people who were considered outcasts or unimportant. Jesus even hung out with people from non-Jewish backgrounds. Bottom LIne : Accept one another. Jesus loved and accepted everyone. We may not agree with everyone, but we can still treat them with love and respect because they are made in the image of God. We show Jesus' love and that the Gospel message is for everyone by the way we treat people. There is still plenty of time to "catch-up" on learning Bible memory work! We sang the "Books of the Bible" song on Sunday and it great to hear so many of the kids singing along by memory! Have a great weekend, The RF Team

Hi Reign Forest Friends, Today in class we decorated papers to celebrate the fathers that God has placed in each child's life. For our Bible story, we head to Luke 6: 6-11 and learn about when Jesus heals on the Sabbath. One Sabbath day, when Jesus was teaching, a man with a twisted hand was there. Jesus said, ‘What does the Law say we should do on the Sabbath day? Should we do good? Or should we do evil? Should we save life? Or should we destroy it?’ Jesus told the man to stretch out his hand. The man reached out and his hand was whole and good as new! The religious leaders were angry because they claimed Jesus broke the Sabbath law. Jesus didn’t break God’s law; He broke the extra laws that had been added over the years.” Jesus wasn’t worried about Himself. He chose over and over again to focus on the needs of others. He cared for the man with the twisted hand and healed him. He didn’t care what the religious leaders thought! Jesus knew that God was pleased with His willingness to help a hurting man. Bottom Line: Look out for one another. Memory verse: All the Old Testament and New Testament books of the Bible have been taught and given to the children to memorize. If your child is working on memorizing them, please encourage them to keep practicing. Some of the children find it helpful to sing Wee Sing Old Testament and Wee Sing New Testament to learn the different books of the Bible. Attached below is the take home paper for this week. Hi Reign Forest Friends, Today in Reign Forest, we discussed the importance of living in peace with one another. We looked at the story of Saul and Barnabas. While Saul traveled to Damascus to arrest the believers there, he was blinded by a bright light. Jesus told Saul to get up and go into the city, so Saul obeyed Him—even though he was blind! Ananias followed God’s instructions to visit Saul, laid hands on him, and healed his blindness. Ananias did this even though he knew that Saul wanted to arrest believers. Saul’s sight returned, and he started preaching about Jesus right away. Barnabas introduced Saul, who was also known as Paul, to the believers: Jesus-followers in Jerusalem were still afraid of Saul. Barnabas could see that Saul had changed and truly believed in Jesus. He introduced Saul to other believers, and with Barnabas’ encouragement, the believers in Jerusalem finally accepted Saul as one of their own! Saul traveled all over, sharing the good news about Jesus. He started many new churches to help lead more and more people to follow Jesus. Bottom Line: Live in Peace with One Another Memory Verse: New Testament Books of the Bible 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, Revelation This wraps up our Bible Memory Challenge for this year. We will hold our celebration party sometime in August. We encourage the kids to use the summer here to catch up on any verses or Books of the Bible that they might need yet to meet our challenge. Attached is the weekly take home devotional. Have a blessed week! Reign Forest Team Your browser does not support viewing this document. Click here to download the document. |
