Dear Reign Forest Friends, This week we learned about Ruth and how she had courage. When Naomi returned home to Bethlehem from Moab, after losing her husband and sons, she expected to go back alone. But her daughter-in-law Ruth chose to give up her homeland and everything she knew to make the long journey to Bethlehem with Naomi… even though she had no idea what would happen to her there. Once they arrived, Ruth continued to help her mother-in-law. Because of Ruth’s courage, God gave her a new family, and Ruth even became part of the family line of Jesus. We learned that Ruth was King David’s great grandmother. [BOTTOM LINE] God can give you courage when you don’t know what’s next! When I am afraid, I put my trust in you! Psalm 56:3 NIrV Bible Memory: This week we focus on the letter B. “This is my command – Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NLT Attached is the devotional for this week. Have a great week! Hi Reign Forest Families! This week, we learned about courage and how it had a vital role in Rahab, helping the two spies. The story began with God promising Joshua that He would help him take down the walls of Jericho. Even though Joshua hesitated at first, he followed God and his plan. Joshua sent two spies into Jericho to spy on the city. When they first arrived, they came to the home of Rahab. The town of Jericho heard of the spies and sent people to go out and find the spies. Rahab used the courage from God to help the spies by giving them a rope they could climb down. Rahab made the two spies promise that because she helped them escape, she and her family may be spared from God when the walls of Jericho come down. And they did so. Rahab trusted God. She knew He was strong and powerful, and that gave her the courage to help someone in need. And she and her whole family were saved! Even though she wasn’t a member of God’s family, she wanted to be! God even made her a special part of His family because she trusted Him. God brought her into Jesus’ family tree! Rahab is one of Jesus’ great-great-great . . . many greats . . . grandmothers! “Rahab took a huge risk, but she chose to trust the One True God and showed incredible courage to help others. Bottom Line: God can give you the courage to help someone in need. This week, we also introduce our new Bible Memory Challenge! We will be learning Bible verses in the order of the ABCs. Attached is our Letter 'A' Bible Verse for this week. Thanks and have a blessed week! Jenna & Reign Forest Leaders. Your browser does not support viewing this document. This past Sunday in RF we headed to the Book of Numbers. We talked about Joshua and Caleb and the ten other spies who went to scope out the land God had promised to His people—the Promised Land! For 40 days, the spies explored the land. They saw that the land was amazing with lots of food, but the people and their cities were big and strong! Most of the spies came back and stirred up fear in the people by telling them the land could not be taken because "the people are too strong for us". However, Joshua and Caleb trusted that God was with them and that He was bigger and stronger than any people they faced. They kept their focus on God and that helped them have courage even when everyone else was afraid. The people, however, did not listen to Joshua and Caleb and focused on their fear instead of God. Because of their fear, they ended up wandering in the desert for many more years. Bottom Line: God can give you courage when others are afraid. In RF, we talked about having courage to do the right thing even when others around us are afraid or are not making the right choice. We pray that the kids remember that God is always with them and will give them courage to face hard things. We will soon be starting the new Bible Memory Challenge for 2025-2026....look for details coming soon! Have a good rest of the week, friends!
