Years ago, Pastor Mark Driscoll, then pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle Washington, started to blog using videos. His videos were often short, to the point, and very helpful. Since then, many pastors have used his approach to connect with people in their congregations and communities. So, I thought I’d give it a try—let me know if it helps.

“Well, here goes!” That’s an old saying that people use just before they do something brave or something that they’ve never done before. This blog is my “here goes” something. I’ve weighed in my mind the benefits and the disadvantages of blogging. It turns out that the “pros” outweigh the “cons.” Through this blog, I hope to increase helpful communication in the congregation. Perhaps you will learn of a ministry through this blog or discover a way to take the next step in your spiritual growth. I will also use this blog to emphasize sermon series or develop additional points that I did not have time for on a Sunday morning. Maybe you will find a recommended next step, resource, or just an encouraging story here. And this blog is an opportunity for you to ask your questions or tell how you are applying some Biblical truth that you’ve learned. I’m excited about the potential of this blog. It might contain the extra “lift” each of us need as we follow Jesus. So…"here goes." |
