​Week 3 – Perseverance:  Refusing to give up when life gets hard.

Bible Story – Pain then Gain (Fix Your Eyes on Jesus) from Hebrews 12:2-3 

Bottom Line – When life gets hard, remember what Jesus did for you

Memory verse – “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.”  (Isaiah 40:31  NLT)          
                                                  
Last Sunday we talked about how Jesus suffered for us even unto death but he never gave up.  He knew what it would mean for you and me if he did give up.  He knew if He persevered  we would no longer be separated from God.  He knew the joy that was to come – the chance for all who believe in Him to have a right relationship with God.  That’s why we can persevere!  We can look to Jesus’ example on the cross.  We can ask Him to help us keep going when we want to give up.  When life gets hard, remember what Jesus did for you!
